Founded in 1956, The Discovery Center is a non-profit science education center that is fully self-funded. We do not receive any funding from the City of Fresno. All donations are gratefully appreciated.

Mission: Hands-on science for kids and families.

We deliver science successfully to hundreds of children each year in a variety of ways, including field trips, camps, outreach, birthday parties, and more.

At The Discovery Center, imaginations are free to run wild, as are your children. Whether they are digging in our Dino Dig Site or fishing for creatures in our Walden Pond, your children will find something exciting at The Discovery Center.

The Discovery Center is located in a 6 -acre park. We have natural outdoor exhibits and play areas for kids of all ages to enjoy including a NASA space capsule, a dino dig, a pond with fish, crawdads & turtles, a maze, and a Miwok Indian Village. Admission to the park is free, and parking is free. We have trees, shade, picnic tables and indoor restrooms.

We are open 7 days a week

Mon-Fri: 9am to 4pm.

Saturday and Sunday: 10am – 5pm.
